# Arcane Tower

The home of Glyphs — craft them, raise their tier and recharge them in one tower.

The **Arcane Tower** is where every [Glyph](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools.md) in Pawtato Land is made and maintained. It owns Glyph crafting outright — the way each [Crafting Station](/pawtato-land/gameplay/buildings/crafting-stations.md) owns its own recipes — and it is also the only place a Glyph is raised to the next rarity tier or recharged.

{% hint style="info" %}
📍 **Jump in:** [Open the Arcane Tower in Pawtato Land](https://pawtato.gg/?at=1\&move=4356:1478)
{% endhint %}

Clicking the tower on the world map opens a three-tab interface:

<table><thead><tr><th width="180">Tab</th><th>Purpose</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Crafting</strong></td><td>Craft any Glyph you have unlocked, listed by profession. Jobs run on the Tower's queue, so you can close the building and come back.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Upgrade</strong></td><td>Attempt to raise one Glyph to the next rarity tier — see <a href="/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting/upgrading.md">Upgrading</a>.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Recharge</strong></td><td>Refill a drained Glyph's Energy — see <a href="/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/tool-durability-and-repairs.md">Glyph Energy &#x26; Recharging</a>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
**The tabs tell you when something is waiting.** A small gold badge on a tab counts what is ready to claim there — finished Glyph crafts on the **Crafting** tab, finished recharges on the **Recharge** tab — so a Glyph that has finished recharging is visible without opening the tab. While a job is still running, the tab shows the **time remaining** if you have a [**Glyph of Research**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/miscellaneous-tools.md) staked, and a plain clock icon if you do not. The **Upgrade** tab resolves on the spot, so it never carries an indicator.
{% endhint %}

## Crafting

The **Crafting** tab lists every Glyph you can make, exactly as the crafting flow works elsewhere: pick a Glyph, check its materials, press the green craft button, wait for the timer and claim it. A Glyph reveals its rarity when you claim it. The bench runs **one craft at a time**, and it has to be claimed before the next one can start. A **layout switch** in the header of the crafting window — beside the close button — swaps between the compact and the detailed recipe list.

If a Glyph's recipe is missing a material, the shortcut on that material takes you straight to the craftsman that produces it.

## Upgrade

The **Upgrade** tab holds a single **Select Glyph** slot. Open it, pick the Glyph you want to raise, and the upgrade panel appears below the slot with its crystal cost, base chance and the optional boosts.

Three kinds of Glyph are kept out of the picker:

* **Mythic** Glyphs — Mythic is the final tier.
* Glyphs **listed on the marketplace**, which are locked while they are for sale.
* Glyphs that are **recharging** — claim the recharge first.

The tiers, costs, chances and the offering rules are all on the [Upgrading](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting/upgrading.md) page.

## Recharge

The **Recharge** tab works the same way: a **Select Glyph** slot, then the recharge panel below it. The picker lists the Glyphs that sit below full Energy or are already recharging. **Mythic** Glyphs hold unlimited Energy and never appear here, and neither do Glyphs listed on the marketplace or tied up in a running craft.

A repair also **unequips** the Glyph, so a Glyph that is **tied up in an unclaimed craft** cannot be sent for one — whether it is the Glyph the craft is being made with or one applied to a [Crafting Station](/pawtato-land/gameplay/buildings/crafting-stations.md) recipe as a booster. Claim the craft first.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**One recharge at a time.** You can only have a single Glyph recharging. Claim the finished one — or pay to finish it instantly — before starting the next. The picker is locked while a recharge is running, and the game names the Glyph that is holding the slot.
{% endhint %}

Recharge costs and durations are on the [Glyph Energy & Recharging](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/tool-durability-and-repairs.md) page.

## Picking a Glyph

Both the Upgrade and the Recharge picker group your Glyphs **by profession** — Miscellaneous first, then Woodworking, Masonry, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking and Tailoring, and Production last — which is how you go looking for one. Each row shows the Glyph's tier, Quality and current Energy, and carries a badge when it needs one:

<table><thead><tr><th width="200">Badge</th><th>Meaning</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Selected</strong></td><td>The Glyph currently in the slot.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Ready to claim</strong></td><td>Its recharge has finished and is waiting for you.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Recharging</strong></td><td>Its recharge is still counting down.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Empty</strong></td><td>Its Energy has hit 0, so it grants no boost.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Equipped</strong></td><td>The Glyph is staked in one of your Glyph slots.</td></tr></tbody></table>

An empty Glyph also carries the same red Energy marker over its image that the Backpack and the Glyph slots draw.

{% hint style="info" %}
Opening a Glyph from your **Backpack** shows an **Arcane Tower** card reporting its status — drained, recharging, ready to claim, or upgradable — with a **Go to the Arcane Tower** button that flies the map camera to the building.
{% endhint %}
