# Crafting Stations

Some items in Pawtato Land are made through the general [Crafting](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting.md) menu. Certain goods, however, are made at dedicated **Crafting Stations** placed on the world map. Each station is a specialist building that **owns an exclusive crafting category** - no other surface can produce the items that belong to it - and, for the equipment craftsmen, also handles the **repairs** of the gear it makes.

There are currently seven Crafting Stations:

* [**Blacksmith**](https://pawtato.gg/?bs=1\&move=4532:1544)
* [**Mason**](https://pawtato.gg/?ms=1\&move=4566:1554)
* [**Tailor**](https://pawtato.gg/?ta=1\&move=4462:1505)
* [**Leatherworker**](https://pawtato.gg/?lw=1\&move=4440:1522)
* [**Woodwright**](https://pawtato.gg/?ww=1\&move=4455:1546)
* [**Cooking Station**](https://pawtato.gg/?ck=1\&move=4543:1568)
* [**Alchemist**](https://pawtato.gg/?al=1\&move=4376:1368)

## How Crafting Stations Work

By Clicking on a Crafting Station a tab-separated interface opens:

<table><thead><tr><th width="180">Tab</th><th width="548">Purpose</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Crafting</strong></td><td>Make new items from that station's own recipe list. Each job runs on the building's own queue.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Schematics</strong></td><td>The place to unlock any acquired Recipes, Blueprints, Formulas etc.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Modification*</strong></td><td>Alter a piece of equipment you already own - adjusting its affixes, sockets and stats.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Repair*</strong></td><td>Restore the durability of equipment that belongs to this station. Only the station that owns an item type can repair it.</td></tr></tbody></table>

\*Some tabs are only visible for specific Crafting Stations.

## Equipment Craftsmen

Every piece of equipment is routed to exactly one craftsman, both for crafting and for repairs. This routing is fixed in the game - a damaged Axe can only be repaired at the Blacksmith, a Quiver only at the Leatherworker, and a Fishing Rod only at the Woodwright.

<table><thead><tr><th width="170">Station</th><th>Handles (craft &#x26; repair)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Blacksmith</strong></td><td>Heavy Armor, Swords, Daggers, Axes and Shields</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Mason</strong></td><td>Orbs and Talismans</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Tailor</strong></td><td>Light Armor</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Leatherworker</strong></td><td>Medium Armor and Quivers</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Woodwright</strong></td><td>Maces, Wands, Staves, Bows, Wooden Training Gear and Fishing Rods</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Because the routing is exclusive, keep track of which craftsman made a piece of gear - that same station is the only place you can repair it later.
{% endhint %}

Some Equipment Craftsmen also craft the basic **materials** used in further crafting: the **Woodwright** makes Wooden Planks, the **Mason** makes Stone Blocks, Gravel and Sand, and the **Blacksmith** makes Iron Bars and Glass. (The more advanced materials — such as Gold Bar and Paper — are made in the general [Crafting](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting.md) menu instead.)

{% hint style="info" %}
**The Tailor spins Flaxen Twine.** Alongside its Light Armor, the Tailor turns **25 Flax** — the common herb cut from [Herbalism](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/herbalism.md) thickets — into **1 Flaxen Twine** in a one-hour craft. The recipe sits **locked** on the Tailor's Crafting tab until you learn **Blueprint: Flaxen Twine**, a Common [Blueprint](/pawtato-land/gameplay/consumables/blueprints.md) sold at the **Herbalist's Hut** for 1,000 Flax (<mark style="color:green;">Liked</mark> Verdant Hand [Reputation](/pawtato-land/gameplay/the-world/reputation.md) required). Learn it on the Tailor's own **Blueprints** tab.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Three craftsmen refine the** [**Broodmother's Lair**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/dungeons.md#broodmothers-lair) **drops.** The **Tailor** weaves **Bolt of Silk** (3 Bolts of Linen + 1 Spider Silk + 1 Essence of Axoma), the **Leatherworker** cures **Huskhide Leather** (3 Light Leather + 1 Molted Husk + 1 Essence of Axoma) and the **Blacksmith** smelts the **Chitinsteel Bar** (3 Iron Bars + 1 Chitin Plate + 1 Essence of Axoma). All three are **one-hour** crafts, and all three stay **hidden** until you learn the matching [Blueprint](/pawtato-land/gameplay/consumables/blueprints.md) — which drops from the Lair's Spider Egg Sacks. Each material then feeds that same craftsman's Lair armor set.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**The Blacksmith forges the starter Sickle.** Alongside its weapons and armor, the Blacksmith crafts the **Basic Sickle** — the entry tool for [Herbalism](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/herbalism.md) — from **10 Wood + 5 Leather Scraps + 3 Iron Bar**. Like the Basic Fishing Rod, it always comes out **Common** and is minted **soulbound**, so it can't be sold, but it moves freely between your own Heroes. The Blacksmith is also where all three **Sickle** tiers and the **Clover** and **Hook** talismans are **repaired**.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
These material recipes **no longer require a Tool**. Staking the matching Tool (a Handsaw, Kiln, and so on) at the station is now an optional **passive boost** that speeds up the craft and lowers its resource cost.
{% endhint %}

Because the Tool is only a booster here, **one staked Tool can boost several station crafts at the same time** - a single Kiln can boost an Iron Bar and a Glass craft at once. This is different from the general [Crafting](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting.md) menu, where a recipe that genuinely **requires** a Tool (Gold Bar, Paper) ties that Tool up until the job is claimed, so it cannot start a second craft in the meantime.

A **broken** Tool (0 Durability) grants **no boost at all** - the craft simply runs at full base cost and duration. See [Tool Durability & Repairs](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/tool-durability-and-repairs.md).

## Consumable Craftsmen

Not every Crafting Station makes gear. Two stations instead turn resources into **Consumables** for your Heroes: the **Cooking Station** (food) and the **Alchemist** (potions).

<table><thead><tr><th width="170">Station</th><th>Handles (craft)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Cooking Station</strong></td><td>Fish → food (timed effect buffs)</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Alchemist</strong></td><td>Potions &#x26; Glass Vials</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Cooking Station

The **Cooking Station** turns resources into **food** that grants your Heroes **timed 24-hour buffs**. Buffs from different meals stack, and eating the same meal again refreshes its timer.

**Utility meals** buff a Hero's out-of-combat progression or a main stat:

<table><thead><tr><th width="200">Recipe</th><th>Effect (24 hours)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Taterfin Stew</strong></td><td>+20% Combat XP Gain</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Spicy Spudscale</strong></td><td>+20% Stamina Regeneration</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Fried Hashibut</strong></td><td>+3 Vitality</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Charred Spider Legs</strong></td><td>+3 Agility</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Bileweaver Broth</strong></td><td>+3 Intelligence</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Brood Omelette</strong></td><td>+3 Strength</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Three of the utility meals are cooked from** [**Broodmother's Lair**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/dungeons.md#broodmothers-lair) **spoils**, each a **30-minute** craft:

* **Charred Spider Legs** — 3 Spider Legs + 1 Heartroot + 3 Coal
* **Bileweaver Broth** — 3 Venom Glands + 5 Water + 1 Wooden Bowl + 1 Ginseng
* **Brood Omelette** — 3 Brood Eggs + 1 Paper + 1 Nightshadow

Like every Cooking Station dish they are **Recipe**-gated: you have to find **Recipe:&#x20;*****\<Dish>*** — all three drop from the Lair's Spider Egg Sacks — and learn it on the **Recipes** tab first.
{% endhint %}

**Combat-buff dishes** boost a Hero's [combat stats](/pawtato-land/gameplay/heroes/stats.md) directly. Their bonuses are added on top of your gear and potions:

<table><thead><tr><th width="230">Recipe</th><th>Effect (24 hours)</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Pawranha Skewers</strong></td><td>+5% Physical Damage</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Tunato Steak</strong></td><td>+5% Magical Damage</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Whiskarp Broth</strong></td><td>+5% Hit Chance</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Boiled Lurker</strong></td><td>+10% Evasion</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Glazed Crystal Koi</strong></td><td>+10% Critical Strike Chance</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Mashed Marlin Platter</strong></td><td>+7.5% Physical &#x26; Magical Resistance</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Alchemist

The **Alchemist** is the consumable craftsman for **Potions**. It brews:

* The Hero **stat potions** — the Lesser Agility, Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Vitality Potions, plus the **Prismatic Elixir** (see [Potions](/pawtato-land/gameplay/consumables/potions.md)).
* The **Lesser Health Potion**, which mends a Hero's [Injury](/pawtato-land/gameplay/heroes/injury.md) stacks.
* The account-level **Nightvision** and **Warding Potions** used to enter [Dungeons](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/dungeons.md).
* The **Glass Vial** — the empty vessel potions are bottled in, used as an input for the potions themselves. This is a **batch recipe**: one craft consumes a single Glass and yields **10 Vials**.

These recipes are **available by default** (they moved to the Alchemist from the general [Crafting](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting.md) menu), so nothing needs to be unlocked to brew them. Like the Cooking Station's **Recipes** tab, the Alchemist has its own **Formulas** tab for unlocking any potion recipes learned from **formula schematics** found out in the World.

**Learned from a formula:**

* The **Health Potion**, which removes **2** [Injury](/pawtato-land/gameplay/heroes/injury.md) stacks, is brewed from **1 Heartroot + 1 Glass Vial + 5 Water**. Its recipe is not available by default — you must first buy **Formula: Health Potion** at the [**Herbalist's Hut**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/herbalism.md) (paid in Heartroot, gated behind <mark style="color:cyan;">**Admired**</mark> **Verdant Hand** [Reputation](/pawtato-land/gameplay/the-world/reputation.md)) and learn it in the **Formulas** tab. The formula is **soulbound**, so it is learned rather than traded.
* The [**Antivenom Draught**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/consumables/potions.md#antivenom-draught), which cuts the **poison damage** a Hero takes by **60% for 24 hours**, is brewed from **1 Glass Vial + 3 Venom Glands + 1 Essence of Axoma + 1 Heartroot** in a **12-hour** craft. It needs **Formula: Antivenom Draught** learned in the **Formulas** tab first, and that formula is **soulbound** too. The Venom Glands come from the spiders of the [**Broodmother's Lair**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/dungeons.md#broodmothers-lair), which is also where the Draught is most worth drinking.

## Unlocking Recipes

Not every recipe is available from the start. Crafting Station recipes fall into two groups:

* **Available by default.** The equipment craftsmen's recipes are ready to use as soon as you can reach the station - nothing needs to be unlocked first.
* **Found in the World and actively unlocked.** Some recipes are not available until you acquire them as **recipe schematics** and unlock them yourself. Schematics can be **discovered out in the World** or **bought at the** [**Fisherman's Hut**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/adventure/fishing.md) - paid in fish and gated by your **Shoalkeepers** [Reputation](/pawtato-land/gameplay/the-world/reputation.md) (schematics bought there are **soulbound**). Unlocking **consumes the schematic** and permanently adds the recipe to your account.

A recipe only needs to be learned **once**. A schematic for a recipe you already know is shown as *already known* and cannot be learned again, and if you own no recipe schematics the tab prompts you to venture out into the World to find some.

### Locked recipes are visible

A station's Crafting tab shows its **whole recipe catalog**, not just the part you have unlocked. The recipes you can make come first; everything still locked follows them, **greyed out with a lock badge** and not selectable — so you can always see how much more a building holds.

Hovering a locked recipe explains how to open it, and the wording depends on the kind of schematic that station uses:

<table><thead><tr><th width="290">Station</th><th>Locked-recipe tooltip</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Blacksmith</strong>, <strong>Mason</strong>, <strong>Woodwright</strong>, <strong>Leatherworker</strong>, <strong>Tailor</strong></td><td><em>Locked — find its Blueprint out in the World and learn it in the Blueprints tab.</em></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Cooking Station</strong></td><td><em>Locked — find its Recipe out in the World and learn it in the Recipes tab.</em></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Alchemist</strong></td><td><em>Locked — find its Formula out in the World and learn it in the Formulas tab.</em></td></tr></tbody></table>
