# Marketplace & Exchange

Pawtato Land has a full in-game economy. Everything you gather, craft, or earn can be traded with other players, and every action in the game is powered by **TATO**. This section covers the trading surfaces and how to reach them.

| Surface          | What it's for                                                                                                                                                        |
| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Marketplace**  | Player-to-player trading of **items** — Heroes, Lands, Tools, Equipment, Skill Gems, Visages and Schematics — through fixed-price listings, bids and counter-offers. |
| **Exchange**     | An **order-book** for buying and selling in-game **resources** against TATO, with live buy/sell orders.                                                              |
| **Convert**      | A one-click resource-to-resource swap that routes through the Exchange.                                                                                              |
| **Swap**         | Swap between on-chain tokens (for example, SOL to TATO) using an embedded swap widget.                                                                               |
| **Transfer**     | Send resources, Tools and Equipment directly to another player.                                                                                                      |
| **Funding TATO** | Move TATO from your wallet into your in-game Backpack so you can spend it in the game (and back out again).                                                          |

The **Marketplace**, the **Exchange** (its **Resources** section) and **Convert** all live inside a single in-game window. Open it from the **Marketplace** icon in the action bar at the bottom of the screen.

## The two sides of your TATO

TATO exists in two places:

* Your on-chain **Wallet** (on SUI or Solana), and
* Your **In-Game Backpack** — your spendable in-game balance, which the game reads whenever you pay for something.

Spending in-game (listings, orders, fees, Casino spins, crafting) always draws from your **Backpack**. To top it up, you **deposit** TATO from your wallet; to take it back out, you **withdraw**. Some TATO is **soulbound** (for example, certain quest rewards). Soulbound TATO can be spent inside the game but **cannot be withdrawn** to a wallet or sold. Wherever a purchase requires sellable TATO, soulbound balances are excluded.

## Where each surface lives

* **Marketplace, Exchange & Convert** — open the **Marketplace** from the action bar, then choose a section in the left sidebar: **Overview**, **Browse**, **Convert**, **My Listings**, **Bids** or **Activity**. Picking the **Resources** category opens the Exchange order-book.
* **Transfer** — use the **Send** button on any resource or item in your **Backpack**, or open the Transfer screen directly.
* **Swap** and **Funding TATO** — open the **TATO Swap & Bridge** screen from your Assets sidebar, or use a **Deposit More** button wherever the game tells you you're short on TATO.
