# Glyphs

{% hint style="info" %}
📍 **Jump in:** [Open Glyph Management in Pawtato Land](https://pawtato.gg/?tm=1)
{% endhint %}

In **Pawtato Land** an Architect can **craft** ([Crafting](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting.md)) many different Glyphs to complement the chosen playstyle. Those Glyphs can be **equipped** (staked), **recycled** ([Salvaging](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting/salvaging.md)), **upgraded** ([Upgrading](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting/upgrading.md)) or **sold** on the secondary market.

Glyphs can have various benefits, for example:

* Increase production of [Resources](/pawtato-land/gameplay/resources.md)
* Enable [Resource Processing](/pawtato-land/gameplay/resources/resource-processing.md)
* Unlock Quality of Life features
* Enable crafting of [Consumables](/pawtato-land/gameplay/consumables.md)

## How to equip a Glyph (step by step)

1. Open your **Player Profile** by clicking your profile picture in the top-left corner of the screen, then select the [**Glyphs**](https://pawtato.gg/?tm=1) tab. It shows your Glyph slots grouped under [**Miscellaneous Glpyhs**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/miscellaneous-tools.md), **Crafting Glyphs** ([Woodworking](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/woodworking-tools.md), [Masonry](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/masonry-tools.md), [Blacksmithing](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/blacksmithing-tools.md)) and [**Production Glyphs**](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/production-tools.md).
2. Pick a slot. Click an unlocked, empty slot under the category you want (for example **Production Glyphs** or **Miscellaneous Glyphs**). The **Glyphs** picker opens for that slot's **Category**.
3. Equip the Glyph. Find the Glyph in the list and click **Equip** (or click its row). It is staked into the slot and shows an **Equipped** badge.
   * To replace a Glyph already in the slot, open the slot and click **Switch** on a different Glyph, or **Unequip** to empty it.
   * If you have no matching Glyph, the panel shows **Craft Now**, which takes you to [Crafting](/pawtato-land/gameplay/crafting.md).
   * A broken or in-repair Glyph shows **Repair** / **Modify** instead — see [Glyph Durability & Repairs](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/tool-durability-and-repairs.md).
4. Unlock more slots (optional). Locked slots show the resource and amount required (for example "x 1,000 to unlock"). Click a locked slot to open its unlock panel, then click **Unlock Slot** to burn the required resources and open it. Slots must be unlocked in order — the button instead reads **Insufficient Balance** or **Cannot Unlock Yet** when you cannot unlock it yet.

Base slot counts, plus the bonus Production and Miscellaneous slots granted by staking an Estate or Province, are covered on the [Plot](/pawtato-land/gameplay/land-nft/plot.md), [Estate](/pawtato-land/gameplay/land-nft/estate.md) and [Province](/pawtato-land/gameplay/land-nft/province.md) pages.

## Crafting Glyph slots

The three crafting disciplines — [Woodworking](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/woodworking-tools.md), [Masonry](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/masonry-tools.md) and [Blacksmithing](/pawtato-land/gameplay/tools/blacksmithing-tools.md) — each get their own row of **four slots**, one per tier of the discipline:

<table><thead><tr><th width="220">Slot</th><th width="300">What it holds</th><th>How you get it</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Woodworking Slot 1</strong></td><td>A <strong>Basic</strong> Glyph of that discipline</td><td>Always unlocked</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Intermediate … Slot</strong></td><td>A <strong>Glyph of Intermediate</strong> Woodworking / Masonry / Blacksmithing</td><td>Unlocked with resources</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Advanced … Slot</strong></td><td>A <strong>Glyph of Advanced</strong> …</td><td>Unlocked with resources</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Master … Slot</strong></td><td>A <strong>Glyph of Master</strong> …</td><td>Unlocked with resources</td></tr></tbody></table>

Each slot only accepts a Glyph of its own tier, so a discipline's four slots hold its Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Master Glyphs side by side rather than several copies of the same one. The Intermediate and Advanced slots each open off the always-unlocked first slot, and the Master slot opens once the Advanced one is unlocked. Every slot is paid for in a different resource, shown on the locked slot itself.

Glyph have a rarity system of six tiers, next to unique attributes of the Glyph also increase maximum **Durability:**

<table><thead><tr><th width="124" align="center">Common</th><th width="119" align="center">Uncommon</th><th width="127" align="center">Rare</th><th width="122" align="center">Epic</th><th width="123" align="center">Legendary</th><th align="center">Mythic</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td align="center">100</td><td align="center"><mark style="color:green;">250</mark></td><td align="center"><mark style="color:blue;">500</mark></td><td align="center"><mark style="color:purple;">750</mark></td><td align="center"><mark style="color:orange;">1,000</mark></td><td align="center"><mark style="color:red;">Indestructible</mark></td></tr></tbody></table>
