# Token

The **Pawtato Token (TATO)** is the core utility asset powering the Pawtato ecosystem on Solana & Sui. It's designed to reward active participation, drive platform growth, and align incentives between users, builders, and stakeholders.

**Please note that some trading terminals and platforms may currently display a warning that the token is mintable.**

This is expected due to the token being available through Wormhole as a multi-chain asset. Bridging requires a lock + mint-and-burn mechanism: tokens are locked/released on one chain and minted/burned on the other chain during the bridging process.

The token is only mintable as part of this bridge mechanism. We are actively working with the relevant providers to ensure this is displayed correctly as a bridge-related mintability status instead of a general warning.

**Beware of scams:** Multiple fake tokens are impersonating Pawtato (TATO), and some are even being sent directly to users wallets. Make sure you are always interacting with the correct TATO token that matches the token address listed in our official docs.
